Eccup Reservoir

This reservoir is located north of Leeds, off Alwoodley Lane. It holds a mix of wildfowl in the winter (along with a very occasional diver), woodland and hedgerow birds throughout the year and can attract large numbers of roosting gulls. There is also a viewing platform, staffed by volunteers on weekends, from which you can view some of the red kites that have been successfully reintroduced into Yorkshire from the release centre at Harewood.
