Some highlights of birds in the Lichfield & District RSPB area in January include:

Immature Long-tailed Duck, Siskin, Lesser Redpoll and Common Snipe (Branston Water Park, SK2221);
Great Grey Shrike (Between Walton football club and the river Tame, SK2118);
Two male Smew, Goosander and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker (Croxall nature reserve, SK1914);
Redhead, Tree Sparrow, Yellowhammer, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Little Owl, Merlin, and Whooper Swan (Whitemoor Haye, SK1813)
Common Crossbills, Cannock Chase (SK0019)
