There were 15 people who met in at Thornton and enjoyed a walk around the reservoir on a windy day with some sunny intervals. Notable birds were sedge warbler, buzzard, kingfisher and good numbers of swallow, swift, sand and house martin.

Species identified:

Little grebe, Great crested grebe, Cormorant, Mute swan, Canada goose, Mallard, Tufted duck, Buzzard, Kestrel, Pheasant, Coot, Woodpigeon, Swift, Kingfisher, Sand martin, Swallow, House martin, Grey wagtail*, Wren, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Song thrush, Sedge warbler, Chiff chaff (heard), Long tailed tit, Blue tit, Great tit, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion crow, House sparrow, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting

* Not a clear view but general consensus that they were grey
