Talk on Extremadura by Mike Roberts

Field Trip to Marton Mere and Rossall Point

Location: Meet in Lawson Road in Blackpool at SD333352

This is a field visit to two of the Fylde's best birdwatching sites: Marton Mere and Rossall Point. We shall spend the morning seeking birds near to and on Marton Mere and following lunch drive to the North Fylde coast at Rossall Point for shore birds.

Field Trip to North Wales Coast.

Location: Meet at Llanfairfechan Car Park at SH 679754 on map 115.

Here we will be looking for Divers, Grebes and Wildfowl. Hopefully we will walk along to the salt marshes to look for Finch flocks. Where we visit after lunch will depend on what is about in the area.
Hopefully Mike from Conwy RSPB will be joining us.

Field trip to Park Hall Country Park

Location: PARK HALL COUNTRY PARK
Meet at the centre's car park at 9.30a.m. at SJ 931449 0n map 118.

The site contains Stoke-on-Trent's only NNR -Hulme Quarry. There is a chance we might see Long-eared Owls which are said to roost here along with flocks of Finches and Thrushes.

Grade:- Moderate.

Field trip to Lake Vrynwy

Location: Meet at the centre's car park at SJ016192 on map 125.

This RSPB Reserve has areas of open water, scrub, woodland, small meadows, deciduous and conifer woodlands along with heather moorlands. We shall take one or two of the trails so some walking will be involved. Birds we may see include Dipper, Grey Wagtail, Buzzard, Red Grouse, Ring Ouzel and early migrants.
Grade:- Moderate to hard.
