We will be looking for woodpeckers and winter birds.
General Information for ELBF walks:
Unless stated all walks are on level ground and are expected to last for between 2-3 hours (although there is often the opportunity to stay for longer). Bring binoculars, and wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions. Anyone is welcome on our walks, regardless of previous experience - we will always do our best to help beginners with identification, or answer any other queries if we can.
There is no need to book, and, there is no charge for the walks - although a small donation (if you would like to give one) is appreciated to help cover costs of producing leaflets.
If you require further information about these walks contact Roy Woodward. Tel - 07855 567332. email - roy.rkwoodward@ntlworld.com

The British Trust for Ornithology has existed since 1933 as an independent, scientific research trust, investigating the populations, movements and ecology of wild birds in the British Isles.
Their speciality is the design and implementation of volunteer wild bird surveys. They do this to promote and encourage the wider understanding, appreciation and conservation of birds.
Volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life put their bird-watching skills to good use.
A major project that is currently being undertaken is the Bird Atlas 2007-11 to map Britain and Ireland's birds.
Ian Woodward has been busy organising TTVs (Timed Tetrad Visits) and encouraging volunteers to provide Roving Records. Come and find out about these and other BTO surveys.
Perhaps he can persuade you to join in!
