Big Garden Bird Watch 2010

Big Garden Bird Watch 2010

During our coldest spell for decades, many people reported birds in their gardens that they had never seen before - such as Redwings and Fieldfares. A prolonged cold spell hits our smallest birds the hardest such as robins, wrens, long tailed tits and goldcrests.

The BGBW provides valuable information about your birds - click on the link below for more information (a quarter of a million people have already reported their sightings!).

If you found you enjoyed participating in this survey, perhaps you would enjoy becoming involved in other surveys.

At our Indoor Talk on Tuesday February 9th, we heard about the wild bird surveys that are a speciality of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) - we hope some of you were inspired to put your bird-watching skills to good use!
