Welcome to the RSPB North Staffs Local Group website.
The main activities of our group are birdwatching field visits and indoor talks on topics of wildlife interest. Every month from September to May we have an indoor meeting with illustrated talks given by invited speakers. These are held in the excellent facilities of the North Staffordshire Conference Centre/Medical Institute on Hartshill Road (http://www.nsconferences.co.uk/introduction.cfm). During the season we also organise nine full-day birdwatching trips by luxury coach to reserves outside the local area. These trips take place on Sundays with a stop on both outward and homeward journeys and are suitable whether you are an experienced birder or a novice. Our friendly group will help you get the most out of these outings. In addition, each season, experienced local birders lead six leisurely morning walks of up to two and a half hours on reserves and in parks in the area around Stoke-on-Trent.
The Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and we have organised a special programme of events to mark the occasion. The October Indoor Meeting will be a celebration of the success of the Group. On November 3rd there will be a day of activities in the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
