Birdwatching Trip to Gibraltar Point

Sunday, 27 September 2009
This was our first trip of the new season and whilst the weather was warm and like summer the birds were not there to greet us. The anticyclonic conditions and the relative drought in Lincolnshire meant that some pools were dry and the number of species was limited. Our 31 members saw 54 species with a few star species such as greenshank, avocet and great skua. For some of our newer members there were a number of lifers so they had a rewarding day. We naturally enjoyed the glorious weather and the pleasant walk around this lovely reserve.
