Coal tit perched on bramble bush

Come and meet the RSPB

The North Wiltshire RSPB Local Group held its last indoor meeting last Tuesday when we were given an interesting talk on the Birds of Blaise Woods in Bristol.

Woodland and Garden Birds is also the subject of an Aren't Birds Brilliant project being undertaken at Westonbirt Arboretum over the next few months. The RSPB has established a feeding station within the grounds and between 11am and 3pm every Saturday and Sunday, from 15 October until the end of January 2006, binoculars and telescopes will be provided to see the birds at the feeders.

Advice is on hand on identification, birding equipment and how you can help the birds in your garden throughout the winter.

Come along and see for yourself.

The event is free although Arboretum charges apply.

Our next indoor meeting is on Tuesday 1 November when Paul Morrison will give us an illustrated talk on The Seychelles.

Our indoor meetings take place at the Jennings Street Community Centre in Even Swindon. Jennings Street is off Rodbourne Road and near the Designer Outlet. There is a good free car park at the Community Centre.

All meetings commence at 7.45pm with the door open at around 7.30pm.

The cost of admission to our indoor meetings is: £2.00 for members and £2.50 for non - members. Accompanied children over the age of 7 are welcome and are admitted free.
