Thames Valley Wildlife

Tuesday, 2 September 2008

Paul Morrison's opening talk was superb. He carefully took us both down the river and into the surrounding countryside with a well-balanced series of pictures that offered us a relatively local trail of discovery.

Most of us would have a reasonable knowledge of what bird life we could expect to see, but it was when he delved into the non-avian fauna and the flora that we learned about the many conservation projects being carried out in the valley.

It was good to start our season with an up-beat, positive talk on the work that is helping to retain the Thames as an environmentally important thoroughfare
