Group Meeting - Bird Ringing

Group Meeting - Bird Ringing

Iain from the University of East Anglia gave a demonstration where we were able to observe how to safely net birds followed by the ringing of them. Iain explained why birds are ringed. A total of 26 birds were caught in the net and each one was ringed by Iain. Amongst the birds caught were goldcrest, blue tit, robin and a young mute swan. This was a rare and exiting opportunity to get up close to such wonderful wild birds.
