Wednesday, 23 November 2011 Indoor Meeting - Reserved for Birds After this talk I felt that members have good reason to be proud of the RSPB for its work in safeguarding our wildlife heritage. Not many, I suspect, would have been aware of the fact that it looks after more than 200 reserves across the UK (covering almost 130,000 hectares, I understand, and home to about 80 per cent of our rarest birds). Latest trip report | Thursday, 19 January 2012 Mid-week Walk - London Wetland Centre - by Peter Hambrook Wet at first then fine and sunny 11C. Once again our trip to Barnes was plagued by heavy traffic on the two routes in, the A316 being at a virtual standstill between the end of the M3 and just before Richmond, resulting in a journey time of an hour and twenty minutes for 19.4 miles!
