Quiz Nite 08

The annual NW Surrey Quiz Nite took place on Saturday January 12th. A fun night was had by all and with the usual banter and cheating of the teams, Hannah's Hummingbirds won by eight points. A fantastic £464 profit was made. Special thanks go to Mary (food provider), Craig the Quiz master and Dave the ref and question setter and all the helpers and organisers who helped to make this event so successful. See you in 09.

Santa's Grotto part 2

The Grotto has been pulled down and Santa's suit has been washed and put away. And the seven brave Santa's that gave their time for the weekends of November and December can have a well-earned rest.

The highs were the 1500+ children we interacted with and the great fun we all had doing it. And the money... We raised a fantastic £1,700.00. The most our group has ever raised in one event - it is looking like a good end to 2007.

Will we do it next year... you bet ...if we are asked? We are going to learn magic tricks just in case. If we are not asked we will just have to find our own grotto.

Wednesday Walks

Those of you who have attended recent indoor meetings will be aware of the decision to introduce midweek 'Wednesday Walks' on a trial basis from February. These will, initially at least, be within an hour's driving of our local area and will be timed to avoid the rush hours as far as possible. Leaders will be Peter Hambrook and/or Geoff Allen. Peter will be your point of contact.

Please feed back your comments on them to Peter or Geoff so that we can tailor future walks as closely as possible to what people would like. As with all our field trips, we would encourage you to car share where feasible. If you don't drive, or would prefer not to do so, please contact Peter to see if a lift can be arranged for you.

You may wish to bring a packed lunch even for 'morning' walks as we will possibly not finish until 13.30 pm on some of the longer ones. See the Events page for details
