Come and join our December Events.

North West Surrey RSPB Local Group welcomes you all to come and join our monthly events. If you like them you are welcome to join our small but very friendly group. See the website for details.

Sunday December 7th. Thursley Common.

Half day trip for winter finches, the chance of all 3 British woodpeckers and the possibility of a wintering Great Grey Shrike. Meet at the Moat Pond car park at 09.30.

Wednesday December 10th. Moor Green Lakes (finish by 13:00)

Half day by car. Scrub, artificial lakes and scrapes. Meet at 10:00 in car park off Lower Sandhurst Road. Approx. two miles walking. GR: SU 805 628.

And They're Off

To make a change from having a slide show I decided to have a fun race night meeting in November - running for prizes instead of money to bypass the gambling laws. All that supported the horses, consumed the food and wine, had an enjoyable time with a general chitchat and get together before Christmas.

Monica Lucas, Geoff French, Val Thatcher, Alan Sharps, Ron Jackson, Jan Bagley, Hannah Lane and Geoff Allen won the horse races. Graham Horsburgh won the Christmas Quiz and Peter Bailey won the hamper. Thanks go out to the people that sponsored races and donated prizes and food. A bonus of £116 was raised on the night for the RSPB.
