Come and join our January Events

North West Surrey RSPB Local Group welcomes you all to come and join our monthly events. If you like them you are welcome to join our small but very friendly group. See the website for details.


Thursday January 1st

Papercourt - New Years Day Bird Hunt.

Half day by car. Meet at car park south of Newark Bridge (on B367) at 09.30. Time to get the year list off to a good start. GR: TQ 039 573.

Wed. January 14th

Wraysbury Gravel Pits (finish by 12:30)

Half day by car. Our main target will be wildfowl, especially smew and goosander. About two miles walking and is usually wet and muddy so bring wellies or waterproof walking boots. Meet in service road off mini-roundabout near M25 junction at 09:30 GR: TQ 019 725

Sunday January 25th

Rainham Marshes RSPB Reserve.

All day trip by car. Excellent site for ducks, geese, waders and raptors. Meet at the reserve car park at 10.00. GR: TQ 552792.

Wed January 28th.

The Birds and Wildlife of Yellowstone and The Grand Teton
by Ian Rowlands.

Ian is a well known speaker and guide and takes us on a visit to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks - one of the largest, most wild temperate-zone eco-systems on Earth, in a region once rumoured to be "the place where Hell bubbles up".
