Snipe perched on fence post

GROUP TRIP TO POLAND 10 - 18 MAY

This is a few of the many highlights of the groups trip to the Bialowieska Forest and Biebrza Marshes.
The calls of Thrush Nightingales and Corncrake throughout the night.
Realising how common Wryneck and Golden Oriole were in this part of Europe.
Finding White-backed, Middle-spotted, Black and Lesser- spotted Woodpecker nests.
Seeing Pygmy Owl and a dormouse on the same branch.
Watching Beavers going about their business at dusk.
Seeing White-tailed Eagle being mobbed by Marsh Harriers.
The diminutive Penduline Tit guarding it's gourd-like nest.
Sorting out Aquatic Warbler from Sedge warblers.
Standing in ankle deep bog whilst watching Great Snipe at their leck at dusk (just).
The Majestic trees in the Primeval forest at Bialowieska.
