BULGARIA IN WINTER

90% of the worlds population of the Red-breasted Goose winters around the marshes of N.E Bulgaria along with 1,000's of White-fronted Geese and a few Lesser White-fronts. Raptors are well represented with White-tailed Eagle, Rough-legged and Long-legged Buzzards, Merlin & Peregrine all wintering in the area.
A day will be spent exploring Cape Kaliakra and adjacent steppe area where wintering residents can include Eagle,Short-eared and Long-eared Owls, Syrian Woodpecker and possibly Wallcreeper.
