Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve

Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve

Formerly the Jeffery Harrison Memorial Wildfowl Reserve, this sequence of former gravel pits is linked by the River Darent, which flows through the reserve, and surrounded by woodland. The reserve covers some 55ha.
Wintering wildfowl include Goldeneye, Tufted Duck and Pochard. Bitterns also sometimes winter in the reedbeds.
The surrounding woodlands are home to all three woodpeckers, tits, warblers and finches.
In summer dragonflies and damselflies abound.

Mostly level paths around lakesides and through woodland. Wheelchair access to the Visitor Centre, three bird hides, and most of the nature trail.

The reserve entrance is on the north side of the A25, Bradbourne Vale Road, between Riverhead and Bat & Ball. Grid reference TQ 520565
