Bough Beech Reservoir

An important site for wetland birds, particularly passage migrants, including Greenshank, Green Sandpiper and Osprey. Floating islands provide safe roosting and nesting sites. Common Tern and Little Ringed Plover are regular. There is a population of Mandarin Ducks.
Approximately 150 bird species occur, 60 of which breed annually.

There is easy viewing access from the causeway (public road).
There is also a Visitor Centre in a converted Oast House. The site is managed by Kent Wildlife Trust.
