Dungeness RSPB Reserve

little egret, wading, water

Sunday, 18 October 2009

On a fine bright day with light wind. We had our best day's birding for a while. After being informed of a number of good birds around, we set out to find them - which we did. 2 Glossy Ibis, a Great White Egret, a Cattle Egret (a UK first for almost all the group) and a few Little Stint.
Also seen were Golden Plover, 3 Little Egret, Snipe (showing their cryptic colour and movement well), winter duck including Pintail and Wigeon, Marsh Harrier, Sparrowhawk and Green Woodpecker. Cetti's Warbler and Bearded Reedling were heard.
