Marsh Harrier (female), close up of head

Morning Walk at Middleton Lakes

After last season when nearly all our walks were hit by bad weather, it was encouraging that our first walk of the new season was in glorious sunshine.
Our venue was the fantastic new RSPB Reserve at Middleton Lakes near Tamworth. Over 30 supporters turned up and besides the sun were treated to good views of little egrets, buzzards, kestrel, hobby and best of all a marsh harrier which is an uncommon bird in the area.
For many, this was their first visit to this site, but for those, who had been before, the changes made to the site were amazing.
