March Round-up

MONTHLY NEWS
The month began with a stroll at Copped Hall, near Epping on March 1st. Copped Hall was gutted by fire in 1917. In 1995 Copped Hall Trust purchased the site, information about the mansion and the Trust's work can be found on their website, details on our trip report pages. Thanks to Mike Oakland for leading this walk.

Supporters on our coach trip to Pagham Harbour on Mar 28th enjoyed much better weather than expected, see the full report. Thanks to Phil Blatcher who led this trip.

Patty Briggs entertained us with an excellent talk on Bats at the group meeting on Mar 31st. A bat can eat 3,500 insects each night - such as mosquitos - so we all need to encourage them by planting night scented plants, to encourage moths, etc. See the Bat Conservation Trust website, details below, for more information on ways you can help support our dwindling bat colonies.
