Ann Smith was joined by 15 supporters for the morning walk at Fishers Green on Dec 4th. A black necked grebe, drake pintail and a peregrine were the highlights of the walk. Hope to see you on one of our coming trips in the New Year.
14 supporters were on our Wednesday fundraising walk at Fishers Green on Dec 14th, we saw 50sp including pintail, water rail and goldeneye. Full details of all our outings and walks are on our 'Trip Reports' pages.
At our Christmas group meeting on 13th, we had a short presentation by our very own star, Ted Bell! He updated us on the work being carried out on Skokholm, this was followed by festive food, a very festive quiz by Geoff Brown - Sue Reeks won the reindeer (chocolate!) and we drew the Grand Xmas Draw, 1st prize went to Mrs L Hayes, 2nd to Mrs M Beckett and 3rd to Mr S Miller, it looks like we've raised approx £900 on the draw, a very good result. Elsie's Mute Swan print was won by Peter Tubby. A very good evening was enjoyed by 45 supporters.
6 MONTHLY 100 CLUB DRAW - DECEMBER
Congratulations to our 6 monthly 100 Club winners - 1st M H Bailey, 2nd Alex Flatt. Cheques in post shortly.

ANNUAL GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ - TABLES GOING FAST!
Tickets are now on sale for our February 4th Quiz, from Toby Spencer (01920 822177), same price as last year, £64 for a table of up to 8 people, ploughmans supper incl. BUT bring along your own drinks. Always a good evening so book your table now ........only 3 tables left!!!

LOCAL BIRDS IN DECEMBER
Bitterns at Amwell, Rye Meads & Fishers Green. Goosander at Ashley Pit, Cheshunt. Goldeneyes on Friday Lake & Bowyers Water and in the channel at Fishers Green just below the weir. Black necked grebe and pintails at Fishers Green in the weir area. Gt Northern Diver at Nazeing Meads, close to the sailing club,( seen last weekend, 10th & 11th.) Redpolls at Rye Meads.

JANUARY EVENTS
On Monday 2nd,, Derrick Ling leads our annual trip to Abberton Reservoir & Tollesbury. Sunday 15th is our car trip to Lynford Arboretum & SWT Lackford Lakes, Suffolk led by Barrie Southwell. Tuesday 31st is our group meeting with a talk on 'Farmland Birds' by RSPB's Simon Tonkin. Full details on our 'EVENTS' pages.
