Morning walk around Cornmill Meadows, Waltham Abbey

30 of us were on this walk, which after a foggy start, became sunny and bright. The bushes and trees looked very attractive in their Autumn colours. We managed to find all 5 members of the Thrush family.

A total of 48 bird species were seen or heard by the group:

Little Grebe, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Wigeon, Mallard, Gadwall, Teal, Shoveler, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Pheasant, Moorhen, Coot, Lapwing, Snipe, Black-headed Gull, Common Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Woodpigeon, Kingfisher, Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Skylark, Pied Wagtail, Wren, Dunnock, Robin, Stonechat, Blackbird, Fieldfare, Song Thrush, Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Treecreeper, Jay, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Starling, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Bullfinch and a lone Golden Plover.

Other Wildlife:

Mammals: Rabbit, Grey Squirrel, Stoat and Fallow Deer

Dragonflies: Common Darter, Ruddy Darter and Migrant Hawker
