The highlights were 4 Buzzards seen from the new path. We all had very good views of one pair 'hanging' in the air over the field, and perched on trees. Large flocks of winter thrushes were seen over the fields.
We saw wigeon and teal on the Goosefield.
A total of 41 bird species were seen or heard by the group:
Cormorant, grey heron, graylag, barnacle, Egyptian and Canada geese, wigeon, teal, sparrowhawk, common buzzard, pheasant, moorhen, coot, black-headed and common gulls, woodpigeon, collared dove, green woodpecker (H), skylark, meadow pipit, pied wagtail, robin, stonechat, blackbird, fieldfare, redwing, song thrush, mistle thrush, long-tailed, great and blue tit, magpie, jackdaw, c.crow, starling, house sparrow, chaffinch, greenfinch, goldfinch, bullfinch and reed bunting.
Thanks to Ann Smith for leading this walk.
