Morning walk around Cornmill Meadows, Waltham Abbey

On a dry, sunny and warm morning, 17 supporters joined Terry & Ann on the walk around Cornmill Meadows.

40sp were seen in total, including excellent views of 4 common buzzards soaring overhead and some were lucky enough to see a kingfisher flying along the Old River Lea. Wigeon, teal, shoveller and shelduck were on the pools, and a sparrowhawk was seen overhead being mobbed by a crow.

40 Species seen:
Grey heron, mute swan, canada goose, shelduck (2), wigeon, gadwall, teal, mallard, shoveler, tufted duck, common buzzard (4), sparrowhawk, kestrel, pheasant, moorhen, coot, lapwing, black-headed gull, woodpigeon, kingfisher, green woodpecker, skylark, meadow pipit, pied wagtail, wren, dunnock, robin, blackbird, song thrush, chiff chaff, goldcrest, long-tailed tit, great tit, blue tit, magpie, rook, carrion crow, chaffinch, greenfinch and reed bunting.

Other wildlife:
Brimstone, Comma and Peacock butterflies
