Did no one realise that Barrie & Phil always arrange good weather? Just to prove it, here's a photo, thanks to Arthur Southwell.
It was dry with plenty of warm sunshine, bar one 10 minute shower (when we were in the hide at Church Norton.) Max Temp 12C although when in the brisk northerly wind (12mph) it seemed cooler.
69 Bird species were seen or heard by the group.
Highlights:
Jack snipe, peregrine (seen several times), mediterranean gull (c.10), swallow (c.8), chiffchaff (10) & wheatear (2).
Other Waders:
Oystercatcher, avocet (2), ringed plover, grey plover, turnstone, lapwing, dunlin, knot, redshank, curlew & black-tailed godwit (4).
Other notable species:
Little egret, brent goose (5 only), common scoter (1), red-breasted merganser (4), buzzard (c4), stock dove, green woodpecker, Cetti's warbler (2 heard) & yellowhammer (1 heard).
Many thanks to Phil for leading this trip.
