49sp were seen or heard by the group. The highlights were the 8 nightingales singing well with fleeting glimpses of some of them. 9 hobbies were seen hunting high over 70 Acres Lake
Species list:
Little grebe, great crested grebe, cormorant, grey heron, mute swan, greylag goose (plus young), canada goose, Egyptian goose (plus young), gadwall, teal, mallard (plus young), pochard, tufted duck, hobby (9), moorhen, coot, lapwing, common sandpiper, lesser black back gull, common tern, woodpigeon, cuckoo, swift, green woodpecker (H), great spotted woodpecker (H), swallow, wren, dunnock, robin, nightingale (8), blackbird, song thrush, sedge warbler, reed warbler, lesser whitethroat (H), common whitethroat, garden warbler, blackcap, chiff chaff, willow warbler, long-tailed tit (plus young), great tit, magpie, jackdaw, carrion crow, starling, chaffinch, bullfinch and reed bunting.
Other wildlife:
Butterflies: Orange tip, Large White, Speckled Wood. Dragonflies etc: 4 spot chaser, banded demoiselle.
Brown Rat, Grey Squirrel and Fox.
