Morning walk at Fishers Green

Sedge warbler perched on phragmites

Terry Smith led this walk at Fishers Green on an overcast, windy but still quite mild morning. 12 supporters joined this walk

Birds seen: 56sp seen or heard.

Highlights:
10 nightingales heard singing but not seen. Good views of a garden warbler. 4 Black Terns feeding over Holyfield Lake with many swifts.

56 Species seen:
Little grebe, great crested grebe, cormorant, grey heron, mute swan, greylag goose, canada goose, Egyptian goose , shelduck, gadwall, mallard, shoveller, pochard, tufted duck, ruddy duck, water rail, moorhen, coot, lapwing, common sandpiper, black headed gull, lesser black back gull, common tern, black tern, woodpigeon, cuckoo, swift, green woodpecker, great spotted woodpecker, swallow, house martin, pied wagtail, wren, dunnock, robin, nightingale, blackbird, sedge warbler, reed warbler, lesser whitethroat, common whitethroat, garden warbler, blackcap, chiff chaff, willow warbler, cetti's warbler, long-tailed tit, blue tit, great tit, jay, magpie, jackdaw, carrion crow, chaffinch, greenfinch and reed bunting.
