Derrick Ling led our last walk of this season, joined by 11 people on a glorious summer's evening with a beautiful sunset.

The evening began on a high note with excellent views of a peregrine on the top of a pylon across the road from the car park, everyone arrived in time to see it. Other highlights during the evening were greenshank, 12 green sandpipers and a little ringed plover in front of the Draper Hide; a little egret flying over the lagoons; 3 broods of pochards, with some fine drakes still in breeding plumage; and three juvenile kestrels on the pylon nest boxes.
