Terry Smith led todays morning walk around Hall Marsh scrape, Bowyers Water and Hook Marsh pit, Waltham Abbey. It was very windy, but was dry at first with a short spell of fine rain then became dry again at the end of the walk.

18 people booked for this walk - but 23 turned up!!!

Highlights:
We had good views of snipe, lapwing and wigeon on Hall Marsh scrape and a flock of siskins in the alders by the scrape. A female goldeneye was spotted briefly on Friday Lake.

43 Species seen:
Great crested grebe, cormorant, grey heron, mute swan, greylag geese, canada geese, wigeon, gadwall, teal, mallard, shoveler, pochard, tufted duck, goldeneye, pheasant, moorhen, coot, lapwing, snipe, black-headed gull, common gull, lesser black backed gull, woodpigeon, kingfisher, great spotted woodpecker, wren, dunnock, robin, blackbird, fieldfare, Cetti's warbler, long-tailed tit, great tit, blue tit, treecreeper, magpie, carrion crow, starling, chaffinch, greenfinch, goldfinch, siskin and a Black swan.
