Terry Smith led todays walk at Fishers Green. It was very cold, with continuous light snow throughout the walk. 7 hardy supporters joined Terry & Ann on this fundraising walk

50 sp seen with excellent views of 2 bitterns in front of the Bittern Information point hide, one being chased by the other and forced to climb up the reeds before flying across the lake! At least 5 water rails were seen during the walk. We had close views of female goldeneye in the channel, brief views of goosanders and a red headed smew that flew past the Grebe hide and landed in the lake, giving good views to all. A yellow-legged gull was feeding with coot in the lake. A male bullfinch was seen by some and everyone had good views of redwing and fieldfare. An unusual 'spot' was this mute swan in the car park, looking for food!
