COPPICING AT GARSTON WOOD RSPB WOODLAND NATURE RESERVE

We will, as usual, be organising a programme of coppicing work parties at Garston Wood. The work undertaken is vital in maintaining the rich diversity of plant and animal life in this beautiful RSPB woodland reserve.

Supervised training is provided by the warden, Toby Branston. We meet at 9.30am in the car park at the northern end of the wood, one and a half miles north of Sixpenny Handley on the Bowerchaike road (SU 003195). Bring a packed lunch if you can stay all day, but do come if you can only spare a shorter time. Gloves and tools are provided. Dates will be posted soon under the Events section and don't forget that we always end the season at the end of March with a brilliant lunch-time barbecue.
