Morning Outing to Stockers Lake

16 people turned out for a sunny winter walk around Stockers Lake started around Springwell Lake where good views of goldeneye, gadwall, wigeon, pochard and shoveler and a kingfisher where had. Around the main Stocker lake a selection of Waterfowl were seen on the water with the highlight a pair of egyptian geese and in the woodland a nice Great-spotted woodpecker was spotted drumming and a family of buzzard was seen on the thermals.

Along the River Colne on the backend of Stockers lake a Red-crested Pochard within the pochard flock and a lone Black Swan was seen. On the river edge goldcrests and a treecreeper were seen feeding within a flock of long-tailed tits along with a wintering chiff-chaff in the trees nearby.
