Mersey Vale Nature Park is an urban park owned by Stockport Council. The river Mersey forms the backbone of the park. Sand Martins nest in the river banking and possible Dipper and Kingfisher use the river to nest and feed.

Kingsbury Water Park is a series of 15 lakes which are interspersed with scrub and woodland areas. The summer migrants will have started to arrive and so the area should hold Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and other migrants. Middleton Lakes is a new RSPB reserve nestled in the River Tame valley.

Conwy is a reserve which benefits from being next to a tidal estuary. A chance to see waders and wildfowl together with summer migrants. South Stack should produce nesting auks such as Guillemot, Razorbill and Puffin together with Kittiwake. There should also be the chance of seeing and hearing Chough.

Potteric Carr is the flagship reserve of the Yourkshire Wildlife Trust. It is a reserve with a wide range of habitats. The pools are a place to see Avocet and Spotted Redshank together with other waders and a reed area good for Reed and Sedge Warblers. This time of year should also be productive for butterflies.
