Trip reports
Marshside & Martin Mere 28th January 2007

Tuesday, 8 May 2007
The trip to Marshside and Martin Mere, as usual, produced some good sightings. At Marshside one of the first birds seen was a scaup, hiding among a group of tufted ducks. Later on, we had several views of merlin, the best of which was when one unsuccessfully pursued a skylark. Also at Marshside were good numbers of waders and wildfowl, including black-tailed godwit, golden plover and pinkfeet. Martin Mere was relatively quiet this time but we did see a solitary peregrine plus whooper swan, tree sparrow and ruddy duck.
