The first of two trips to the North Kent reserve by the group. The Saturday 19th date found the Weather very windy, cloudy but mainly dry. With the temperature on the Mild side at 13 degrees. The following species were recorded by Geoff Shoebridge with the highlights being Brambling and Goldeneye with the Goldeneye displaying. Our guide for the trip was Alan Ford and over 50 species were either seen or heard by the group including;

Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Cormorant, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Shelduck, Wigeon, Mallard, Gadwall, Shoveler, Pintail, Pochard, Teal, Ruddy Duck, Tufted Duck, Goldeneye (4M, 4F) ,Kestrel, Coot, Redshank, Lapwing, Curlew, Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Wood Pigeon, Collared Dove, Green Woodpecker, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Dunnock, Wren (H), Robin (H), Blackbird, Fieldfare, Mistle Thrush, Long Tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Starling, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, House Sparrow, Brambling, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Reed Bunting.

The secomd date to RSPB Cliffe Pools was Wednesday 23 January 2008. A similar list to the above was recorded with a couple of exceptions notably the Kingfisher and Kittiwake. The complete list was as follows;
