Voluntary Work

If you would like to support the RSPB by doing some voluntary work and learn new skills our group supports all three reserves in Cumbria and the Osprey Project at Bassenthwaite.There are volunteering opportunities for manning the new visitor centre at Campfield Marsh RSPB Reserve, welcoming and giving information to visitors to the reserve. There are also outdoor jobs of conservation and maintenance out on the reserves. The Osprey Project offers work in visitor information and protection. More...

Here is the programme for our next season of illustrated talks starting on the 2nd September 2014 to April 7th 2015. They are held on the first Tuesday of the month at the United Reformed Church, Main Street, Cockermouth at 7.30pm. For members of the West Cumbria Group entrance is free for visiting adults it is £2 and children 50p. More...

It has been two years since the group has visited Washington WWT. On our last visit there we had snow, but today at least it would be dry and not too cold. We even got occasional sunshine which lifted the light and colour of the birds viewed around the reserve. More...
