Voluntary Work

If you would like to support the RSPB by doing some voluntary work and learn new skills our group supports all three reserves in Cumbria and the Osprey Project at Bassenthwaite.There are volunteering opportunities for manning the new visitor centre at Campfield Marsh RSPB Reserve, welcoming and giving information to visitors to the reserve. There are also outdoor jobs of conservation and maintenance out on the reserves. The Osprey Project offers work in visitor information and protection. More...

Below is the programme of the monthly illustrated talks for the next season starting on Tuesday 1st September 2015. The meetings are held in the United Reformed Church, Main Street, Cockermouth on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm from September until April. These talks are free to members of the RSPB West Cumbria Local Group, £2 for visiting adults and 50p for children. More...

Visit to Mereshead 21/3/15

Mereshead RSPB Reserve is situated on the Scottish side of the Solway coast, west of Dumfries. On Saturday 21st March 27 members of our local group travelled by coach to this reserve on a bright sunny day with average temperatures of 10c. More...
