Volunteer working on tree roots

Make a Difference Day Saturday, 25 October 2008

Woodbridge RSPB Local Group is again taking part in this year's Make a Difference Day, the UK's biggest 'hands-on' volunteering project where people are asked to give time rather than money.

Make a Difference Day (MADD) first took place in 1995 and is now run by Community Service Volunteers (CSV), founded in 1962 and now the largest volunteering and training charity. The aim is to show the huge impact that volunteers can make by providing a few hours of their time, skills and muscle power.

This year we will again be working at Snape Warren with a view to achieving heathland restoration for the benefit of birds and all wildlife. If you would like to join us in our endeavours please meet us at Snape Warren (directions below) at 9.00am, preferably with stout footwear and gloves and hot drinks. Baked potatoes will be provided. Whilst tools will also be provided it will be useful if you can bring loppers and saws. We finish around 3.00pm but if you wish to leave earlier any of your time will be much appreciated.

In order to assist the catering it would be helpful if you could telephone 01394 385209 if you intend to come.

Directions: Take the B1069 through Snape. At The Crown turn down Priory Road and follow the RSPB signs.
