Osprey in larch tree

RSPB Gala Film Night - Sunday November 25th 2007

The Woodbridge RSPB Group will be showing two new films from the RSPB at the Riverside Theatre Woodbridge on Sunday November 25th at 4-30pm.

Ospreys - Flying home to Rutland Water tells the remarkable story of the Ospreys of Rutland Water in Leicestershire.
David Attenborough tells the story of how ospreys have recently returned to breed in England after an absence of 150 years. In a 10 year project juvenile birds which were brought from Scotland to Leicestershire and tracked on their perilous migration route to West Africa, have now returned to establish a breeding colony at Rutland Water.

Waterlands - a lyrical RSPB film that captures the majesty of some of the UK's most dramatic wildlife spectacles was filmed at some of Britain's most beautiful wetland reserves. The film tackles the issues of climate change where rising sea levels threaten many of our coastal wildlife habitats and suggests measures that can be taken to preserve some or our rarest wetland birds such as bitterns and black-tailed godwits
