Avocet wading in water

Havergate Adventure 2009

The 21st Havergate Adventure was great success, with 456 visitors being taken to the Island over the four day period. The weather could not have been better, and everything ran to plan.
The spoonbills were back, up to 19 on the Sunday, along with 2-300 avocet, plenty of bar-tailed godwit, redshank, greenshank, golden plover, grey plover, little egret, whimbrel, sandwich and common tern, linnet, to name but a few and these were enjoyed, along with the refreshments on offer, by all those who took part.
So much so, in fact, that enquiries have already been received about next year's event, so please make a note in your diaries for the 21st to the 24th August 2010!
