Thousands of whooper and Bewick's swans, along with wintering ducks (often in tens of thousands) make Welney an exciting place at this time of year. The entrance fee for non-WWT members (currently £5.30 adults; £4.00 seniors) will be collected on the outward journey.

Joining Mexico and California, Baja is a bird and wildlife paradise - hummingbirds, shearwaters, petrels and shorebirds, 50 foot cacti and more whales than anywhere else in the world. Having worked for the RSPB and Wildlife Trusts and founded a wildlife tour company, Ian is an experienced speaker with a very good reputation. He will deliver an entertaining talk with a thoroughly professional presentation.

Location: Studland, Dorset
A coach trip to the Studland Peninsula, adjacent to Poole Harbour and noted for its winter population of red-breasted merganser, goldeneye, long-tailed duck, Slavonian and black-necked grebes. Raptors are also a feature in the winter. There is ample scope for walking, giving access to heathland, woodland, three bays and an inland lake.
