VOLUNTEERING

In June the Group's Leader Garth Lowe and Deputy Leader Frances Evans did a week's residential volunteering on RSPB's Ramsey Island off the Pembroke Coast. Their duties included surveying breeding choughs, lapwings and wheatears as well as more practical tasks such as painting gates, bracken bashing, greeting visitors off the boat, manning the shop and serving cups of tea and coffee. Both agreed it had been an enjoyable and satisfying week and would recommend the experience to anyone interested in volunteering.
