Trip reports
Kenfig and Blackpill

Wednesday, 17 January 2007
The Members Group visited these two sites in South Wales on Sunday 14th January hoping to see ring-billed gulls. Despite days of torrential rain, on the day the weather was kind and jackets had to be removed when the sun came out - it was more like Spring than mid winter. Although we did not see any ring-billed gulls, there were ducks and waders a-plenty and at Blackpill two foxes were observed on the shingle strand sunning themselves. This caused quitea bit of excitement with the locals who crowded round wanting to know what we were looking at. A good day's outing even if nothing special was seen bird wise.
