Leighton Moss

Bittern feeding in reedbeds

Saturday, 6 October 2007

The Group had a successful visit to Leighton Moss in April when we had a full coach load of Members. Most of the waders you would have expected to see were there including spotted redshank, knot, greenshank, godwit. The highlights however, were bittern, marsh harrier and a spoonbill. Itwas nice to see bullfinches but disappointing that bearded tits were not showing.
