We are looking for enthusiastic public events volunteers to meet and greet visitors to our fabulous peregrine project in the grounds of the beautiful Chichester cathedral. Tasks will include: talking to people about the peregrines, wildlife in general and the work of the RSPB, helping visitors use our optical and video equipment to get good views of the nesting birds and helping to gain support for the RSPB through membership recruitment.Informing visitors to the project about the particular species and recruiting people to the RSPB is crucial to the work of the RSPB.
A fantastic opportunity to spend time watching and discussing these amazing birds with others - our famous Peregrines! A great chance too to work as part of a small and friendly team of staff and other volunteers. We can help you to gain valuable skills, experience and an insight into the work that we do. Through this role you'll be making a huge difference to the RSPB's vital conservation work.
Are you a 'people person', and have a great ability to enthuse and inspire others? Then we'd love to hear from you! We're looking for volunteers who are:-Approachable and friendly-Have a genuine interest in birds, wildlife and nature conservation-Have the ability to inform people about the RSPB's Chichester Peregrine project and the work of the RSPB in a chatty and inspiring wayPlease note, you DON'T have to be an expert on birds or the RSPB! The above skills are much more important - we'll give you all the information you need to know about our Chichester Peregrine project, how to use a telescope and anything else you need to know beforehand.
