Your membership will save wildlifestop extinctionsprotect wild placescampaign for natureconnect people with nature

We help the wildlife that flies, hops, crawls and flutters in your garden and local area. But we don't stop there. We're helping wildlife in so many ways, across the UK and beyond. Your support is crucial. Without members like you, we could not do all of this vital work for nature.

We worked with others to help save the red kite from extinction in the UK. Now RSPB members are saving the albatross. They're funding a team that shows fishermen how to keep albatrosses away from lethal fishing hooks. Meanwhile, in Sumatra, we're working with partners to help the rare Sumatran tiger and other rainforest wildlife.

Your membership donation is put to good use on heathlands and moors, in woods and wetlands. We buy land to protect important habitats. We also work with farmers and landowners to help make our countryside a better place for wildlife. Visit your nearest nature reserve to see some of the habitats you're supporting - you will feel proud!

If you're passionate about nature, you can make a real difference with us. Our members help us lobby politicians to take action for the environment, and they form a powerful voice for nature. We have successfully campaigned for legislation to protect sealife and reduce UK carbon emissions. There are many ways you can get involved and have your say.

Everyone from grannies to grandchildren can enjoy peaceful nature trails or fun events on our reserves. Come and have a go at pond dipping, guided walks or minibeast hunts. We're passionate about letting children have fun outdoors, so we teach thousands of schoolchildren every year on our nature reserves.

Ann from Oxford

I joined because I was impressed by the clear, scientifically supported arguments for protecting the environment and campaigning to ameliorate climate change. I am confident that my money is put to good use. Well done all of you and thank you.

Steve from Pontefract

I joined to secure land for wildlife - somewhere where nature is the priority. I enjoy knowing I've made a difference for birds and the wildlife web they are part of.

Steve from Pontefract

Ruth from Llanelli

I have always loved birds since I was a child - inspired by my father. I became more aware of the RSPB influencing environmental issues and protecting British wildlife and I wanted to be part of that movement for positive action.

Ruth from Llanelli

Anna from Milton Keynes

I like knowing that I am making a contribution, however small, to the preservation of the wonderful natural world that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
