Avalon Marshes

Have fun discovering bitterns, otters, dragonflies, ancient heritage and much more in the Somerset levels

A mosaic of wetland habitats awaits your class at Ham Wall nature reserve.

Our Avalon Marshes reserves, including Ham Wall, lie within the northern part of the Somerset Levels, about two miles west of Glastonbury.

It's a peaceful area, steeped in history, archaeology, wildlife and atmosphere. An exciting variety of wetland birds and animals can be seen throughout the year.

Boardwalks, hides and viewing platforms enable groups to experience the wonderful world of wetland wildlife of Avalon Marshes at close quarters.

Our work at Avalon Marshes is generously supported by Natural England.
