Lochwinnoch

Children can use all their senses while investigating the wildlife at this wonderful wetland reserve

Lochwinnoch nature reserve is situated within the Clyde-Muirshiel Regional Park and is one of the few remaining wetland sites in Scotland.

Your class will be able to explore and investigate the abundant wildlife and variety of habitats found on the reserve.

There are excellent facilities for your school, including a pond dipping area, visitor centre, viewing tower equipped with telescopes, and hides that give stunning views over marshland and the loch.

Your pupils will gain close-up views of birds such as mallards, swans and grey herons as they congregate and feed on the water.

And with each season bringing a change in colours, sounds and smells, the reserve is ideal for return visits.
