Minsmere

Where children experience a range of wildlife and habitats in hands-on, curriculum-linked sessions

A trip to Minsmere isn't so much about what you'll explore, but what not to explore!

From ancient woodland, wetlands, and reedbeds, to lagoons and shoreline, few sites can offer such a range of habitats to enjoy. And all within easy walking distance of the well-equipped visitor centre!

Our beautiful and diverse reserve is also home to avocets, marsh harriers and bitterns - birds whose conservation success stories are intimately linked to Minsmere.

Whether studying birds, other wildlife, landscape or habitats, groups will find a warm welcome here, as well as one of the UK's best wildlife experiences.

Pond-dipping at Minsmere

Imagine the face of a five year old who manages to net a dragonfly larvae and proudly displays it to his friends, or sees a baby frog at close quarters for the first time. Some very tired wildlife explorers on the coach back to school, but memories to last them for years.
